Samuel Laughton is a queer London-based writer with a current desire to write and produce for the audio medium. He grew up on the Isle of Wight, joining several theatre productions and drama societies within school. He co-wrote an original musical called Rocketman in 2015 and Behind the Rainbow in 2016. He moved to London in 2018 to pursue a bachelor's degree in creative writing and drama, graduating soon after with a 1st and the playwriting award of the year with his dissertation play The Letters They Once Wrote. Samuel now resides in a master's degree at the University of the Arts London, studying performance writing, which he will graduate from in 2023.

To further build his portfolio, Samuel writes literature columns for an independent magazine named Pilot which he writes book reviews for. With previous experience in playwriting, Samuel dipped his toe into writing for radio in 2020 by winning Vectis Radio’s Radio play competition with his script Dear Johnathon, which will be produced and broadcast live in 2023. He hosted his own university podcast titled Monday Myths back in 2018, which sparked his interest in writing for radio. He has a current passion project about producing an independent fictional podcast for Spotify titled We All Peoplewatch
